anyone knows the algo nt uses to reserve nonpaged pool mem?
is there a limit for a driver to allocate from the pool? or is the limit
tied to the thread or process?

There is a KB article on the formula for NPP and PP.
It also discusses overriding the calculated (default) amounts.

My experience has shown limits outside of the defaults.
But experiment with care. You can render the system unbootable.
