Hi all,
Does anybody out there have any idea as to what percentage (if any)
of applications open the same file for both noncached and cached i/o? I
can’t think of any real obvious reason you would do this, but just curious.
Thanks,
Matt

I have seen this in commercial applications (the standard example I use
is a non-linear video editor, where the video frames are written
non-cached and control information is written via cached I/O).
