[nik] Issues with using 1394 for debugging on dell systems?

I am on my second dell test system where the 1394 port does not work. The issue is that the (inbox?) driver throws a Code31 error. When I look at the date of the driver through device manager it is saying 2006. Looking that the drivers and inf file in the driverstore the dates are 2009,2010,2011.

Has anyone run into this issue and know a way to get the correct driver to load?

Thanks,

Is it !ed out on the machine under test or the machine running the debugger?

Not the answer to your question, obviously, but have you considered switching to network debugging? I exclusively used it on my last project and it was (almost) flawless.

I will go in any direction that gets me back to a debug session

Now, I thought the network debug option was only for Windows 8? Can I do kernel debugging under Windows 7 using the network? If I can would I lose that network port regarding normal network use?

Peter,

When time permits, would you mind replying with more details regarding your suggestion? I had thought this was a win8 only feature?
