I have a system installed two Madge cards, one is Smart 16/4 AT Plus
Ringnode (is a ISA card with driver name is MDGMPORT.SYS), the other card
is Smart 16/4 PCI Ringnode (is a PCI card with driver name is
MDGNDIS4.SYS). If I install the ISA card first, and then install the PCI
card, the PCI card won’t work. If I install the PCI first, then the ISA
card won’t work. However, if I use the ISA card’s installation script (the
oemsetup.inf without modified), and use the PCI’s driver (by renaming
MDGNDIS4.sys to MDGMPORT.SYS), then both cards work fine. But, if I
modified the ISA’s inf (by replacing the MDGMPORT by MDGNDIS4), and use the
PCI’s driver (MDGNDIS4.sys) that won’t work. Since the PCI card
installation inf does not support the AT Plus ringNode, so I can not try
the other way (that is,use the PCI inf file and the ISA’s driver by naming
MDGMPORT.SYS to MDGNDIS4.sys).
Please note that the OS is NT4.0, I go to the Network Property to Add
adapter, and give the path of driver to install. After it finished copying
files, it prompt me to enter the IP address. However, when I installed the
second card, it did not prompt me to enter the IP address, and the Binding
tab in the network property is empty.
Any suggestion will be appreciated!!
Thanks.
