Need help regarding storport virtual miniport driver

Hi,

I am learning storport virtual miniport driver from
http://www.osronline.com/article.cfm?article=538 .

How to install this driver ? I can build it successfully but dont know how
to install it.

What kind of changes I need to do so that I can have a virtual device
backed by disk rather than file.

Thanks in advance.

You could use Device Manager. Choose the root name and click the right button. The next is to choose “Add legacy hardware”.
If you implement correctly all SCSI request support you should see a Disk presented by your driver in Disk Management control panel.

Hi,

Thanks very much Igor for your reply, I can able to install above driver.

I can see disk represented by above example driver in Disk Management
control panel but that disk is basically in memory disk.

If I want to expose a lun which is composite (mirror/striping) of 2 physical
disks, what I need to modify in above example?

What are the potential issues ?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Anup
