Hi everyone,
I am having problem with the WDK 6000 KMDF example NdisProt driver. I didn’t change anything in the NdisProt code, just build it, installation on Vista is OK, but “Net start ndisprot” give “access denied” error in command prompt window. I don’t see this error on XP at all, just on Vista. I am an admin user already. Why? I appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Charles
CHARLES:
Did you start the command prompt with “Run As Administrator?” I
imagine that this is what you meant, but I thought I’d mention it just
in case.

You must issue net start and stop commands from an elevated command prompt in Vista. One way to do this is to right click the command prompt shortcut, and select “Run As Administrator”. Command prompts do not run with administrative privileges by default on Vista (with the exception of the built-in Administrator account, which is, of course, disabled by default).
MM,
No, I log in user is in admin group. That’s it, not “Run as admin”.
Thanks.
