naming driver

I’ve written an intermediate driver. To be more correct I changed
Microsoft sample (imsamp) to get what I have now.
Now I want to change the name from “imsamp” to something else.
This is the problem. When I change “imsamp” to “imFilter” (for instance)
it begins working not correctly. It seems to me, that something’s
wrong with binding to adapter.
Maybe somebody came across such a problem ?

Thanks in advance.

You certainly should remove any existing version of the ImSamp before
attempting to install your new one. Be sure to use regedit/regedir 32 to
remove all traces of the old driver before installing your new one. You
might also remove the .INF files for ImSampfrom directories under \WINNT.

If you are using the version of ImSamp that uses the “bindprune” dll, then
you’ll have to make changes in that code to accomodate your new name.

There are lots of places in the .INF as well in the code that the name must
be changed. Unfortunately, the code wasn’t designed so that changing a
single #define will change the name.

As I recall, the names appear with different capitalization in various
places. So, search for all variations of capitalization.

Good luck,
