Does anybody have an idea, what “Microsoft MPIO” driver is?
Is it a WinXP-only feature? Could it be a filter driver that
sits between the disk class driver & the SCSIport driver.
Any information would be useful.

-Mike

MPIO is Microsoft’s attempt to standardize support on server systems for
redundant paths to storage (and perhaps other) devices. I believe it is
.Net Server (XP server) or perhaps later only. It is not available in
the current release of XP, nor do I believe it is available in recent
betas of .net server.
It definitely sits between scsiport and scsi class drivers, that is the
point. If you have a system with two paths to a disk the current version
of NT has a stroke and dies. So you have to hide one of the paths, and
then resurrect it rather quickly and without too much perturbation in
the event that the non-hidden path becomes inoperative.
