MSDN Subscription Renewals

Last year, I heard of someplace that was selling the MSDN subscription
renewals at a lower price than was directly available from Microsoft. Alas,
I didn’t save that email and of course I cannot remember where this was
available. Does anyone on these lists purchase their MSDN renewals from
anyone other than Microsoft? If so, do you get a better price? My renewal
is coming up in about 3 months and I would like to save my small company
some of its money.

Thanks,
Greg

I think our company used TechData for our subscriptions.
I don’t recall the price, but I can find out for you if
necessary.

Ooops! Sorry about that!
www.techdata.com

I don’t have a contact name (my manager handles that stuff and he’s not in
yet), but if you need a name, I can get back with you later. I believe
TechData is a source for resellers, so you may need a Tax ID number in order
to purchase from them.
Sorry I’m so vague on all this, but I’m lucky in that I don’t have to deal
with the financial part.

Thanks for the info. Right after I sent the last email, I tried
www.TechData.com and found them. It appears they only want to deal with
resellers, which we are not.

Thanks for the info anyway,
Greg

I think that’s who I was looking for. Their price this year is only about
$60 less than through MS. It seems like they were around $500 less than MS
last year.

Thanks,
Greg

Last year egghead was selling MSDN at a discount from the Microsoft price.

Given that the professional level of the MSDN is $599, that’s one hell of a
discount!! Are you sure that was the difference between universal and
professional?

We just purchased the Universal renewal at http://www.zones.com/ for $
1,755. Free S&H and they didn’t charge taxes.
