MS behavior on beta program (was: Missing IFS Kit Samples)

Hello All,

I add my voice to the complain of Kevin that you get no response if you are
not selected to participate a beta program.

I’ve the case myself right now with WDF beta program…

Best regards,

David Burg

I too was fooled into thinking that the IFS Kit web site was accurate
for the current version (server 2003) and so purchased it based on that
information. So, I have two questions:

1) Is there a scheduled ship date for the next version?
2) Will I have to pay for an upgrade once it does finally ship?

Also, based on Randy’s information I went to the MS beta web site and
filled out the survey to nominate myself for the beta program. Was this
the correct thing to do? If it’s a typical MS beta, they will not
respond to you if you are not selected to participate. If they don’t
respond, is there any other way to get into the beta?

Thanks,
Kevin

David,

The one prerequisite for joining the IFSKit beta is that you have
previously purchased an IFSKit so your purchase is not in vain.

If you have joined the beta and have not yet been approved please send
an email to xxxxx@microsoft.com. I will make sure you get approved
ASAP.

To answer Kevin’s questions: The new IFSKit will be released shortly
after Srv03 SP1 is released which will be approximately Q2 2005. Yes,
you will have to pay for an IFSKit upgrade but I believe it is only
$100.
