mirror driver sample problem

I sent this out earlier today and the list seemed to be down, so I apologize
if this is a duplicate.

Anyhow, I’m trying to install the sample mirror display driver from the DDK
and I’m getting a BSOD (KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED I believe). I built the
sample and used Add/Remove Hardware in the checked build and found the
mirror.inf file and the install copies the files and the BSOD happens after
that. This is my first attempt at writing a driver of any sort, so forgive
my greeness.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Bill

Thats how i did it…
Build
1… video/displays/mirror/dll
2… video/miniport/mirror
it produces .dll in step 1 and .sys in step 2.
copy .dll in system32 and .sys in drivers …
then through add remove hardware install other
hardware and then give .inf as setup information . It
will ask for both driver files and then it will finish
installation. then after reboot u can easily see it in
DeviceManager Display adapters… BTW no such problem
in my system so far…

Irfan,
Do you have Terminal Services installed by chance? Do you know if there’s a
problem having 2 mirror drivers on the same machine?

I am still having this problem and it’s driving me crazy! I tried what you
suggested, and oddly enough I got the thing to work on the release build of
Win2K but not the checked build. What gives there??

Any help is appreciated.

Bill
