minispy.exe crashes with missing fltlib.dll

Hi,

I am trying to run the minispy filter driver. I am using W2K SP4. I only
manage to compile it using the free build environment becasuse the
checked build environment tries to use the jvc Java compiler when I run
build.exe.

Anyway, once the free build version is compiled and installed (I can see
the minispy driver in the computer management console although it is in
the stopped state), when I run minispy.exe it fails to load and I get a
message box saying “The dynamic link library fltlib.dll could not be
found in the specifified path”. In fact, I don’t have a fltlib.dll
anywhere in my machine.

I even made a Visual Studio project to compile minispy.exe and got it to
compile linking it with fltlib.lib and avoiding the fltlib.dll using
NODEFAULTLIB:ntdll.dll, msvcrt.dll, fltlib.dll, kernel32.dll

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks,

João Garcia

Never ever install the DDK or keep your project sources in any directory with
spaces in the name.

Running on W2K.

I cannot find Neal’s last statement about this but W2K support is real
close…

You need W2K Update Rollup Pack 1. It’s currently a Release Candidate but
should be out soon.

It may still be available via http://beta.microsoft.com with GuestID:
Win2kURPTest.
