Manual system crash with USB keyboard

Hi all

a bit off-topic question about file systems, but …

When debugging deadlocks, I often use the Ctrl + ScrollLock magic
hotkey to crash the system “manually”. For this, a registry entry
in HKLM\System\Services\i8042prt must be enabled and system rebooted.

Now I have noticed that this feature does not work when someone
uses an USB keyboard. Is there some magic registry entry for USB
keyboards too ?

L.

Because this magic is in the 8042 port driver, someone would have to
duplicate it in the USB stack (since it doesn’t use the 8042 port at
all) and as far as I know that has not been done.

Regards,

Tony
