Why’s an add, such as these, allowed in OSR list? It’s bugging.

Good Afternoon,
Discover the lowest rates for life ins coverage in the U.S.
Top companies want your business and your family needs the protection a
solid life ins policy provides.
The answer to that is simple, they’re not. We do have some rules in
place to cut down the amount of spam sent to the lists and for the most part
I think they’ve done a good job. Apparently there is still some room for
improvement though so we’ll need to look into what else we can do.

Scott,
This morning I received couple of emails from list that have viruses
attached to it. The content of the email looks like a legit driver
development question and in one email the person took somebody’s ongoing
email thread and sent it as such with virus attached to it. You may wanna
take a look at this issue also.

I got these too. It’s because someone who’s subscribed to ntfsd is
infected with the BugBear virus. Note that the virus picks random emails
and random ‘from’ addresses off the sender’s computer, so the contents
and sender of the email have no related with who’s actually infected.
The only clue we have is the sender’s IP address, which is 195.161.29.52
(somewhere in Russia).

It is exceedingly unlikely that you have received email from this list with ANYTHING attached. Attachments have been banned from this list for over a year. I don’t SEE any posting with attachments…
Peter,
The email did not come from the list server. The content was very deceiving.
It looked like email from NTDEV/NTFSD list but the sender is not the list
server. But it has a file attachment with it that outlook blocked.
