Kernel-side OS College Course

Guys,

This is a follow up to the thread about that “Advanced OS” course I started
a few weeks ago asking for suggestions. Some of you asked me to put stuff
on-line. Well, the course starts on January 14, and its web site is at
http://www.rivier.edu/faculty/amoreira/web/cs690a02. It’s still in a state
of flux, but I intend to post material to that web site on a regular basis -
those of you who are at senior level will probably find it between
irrelevant and trivial, but some of the newbies may find things that help.
The course is going to be conducted in a lab classroom, one machine per
student, and each machine will have Win2000, Linux, the Win2000 DDK, Windbg,
and Numega’s DriverStudio installed; we should be able to have some serious
fun during these 16 weeks! For those of you within driving distance of
Nashua, NH, or who find yourselves stranded in this general area on a Monday
night with nothing better to do, here’s a standing invitation to drop by and
talk to the students! They’ll be delighted to be able to talk to real kernel
developers and get some ideas of what awaits them in professional life.

And, btw, if any of you wants to contribute your own stuff, or links to the
“Resources” section, it’ll be very much appreciated.

Alberto.
