.inf question

If I have a HID driver based on the hidusbfx2 sample in WDDK that reports my device as a composite mouse/keyboard device do I need to specify in my .inf file to load mouse and keyboard drivers or should the system do this automatically for me (using hidkmdf.sys as function driver)? My PC has done both before and I can’t seem to figure out why it sometimes will automatically load them for me and occasionally won’t.

The OS needs to understand how to load your hid miniport driver. If it reports the HID descriptor correctly, hidclass will enumerate the mouse and keyboard on your behalf and will load the OS drivers without any further INF files from you
