IFSTEST problems (Build 710)

Has anyone observed the following errors when running Build 710 of IFSTEST?
I started with a new system, configured it per the instructions, and ran
IFSTEST with no filter drivers loaded to establish a baseline.

The following tests always fail on a uncompressed NTFS drive:

FileDirectoryInformationTest (timestamp is wrong)
MountVerifyVolumeTest (volume missing - what volume should this be?)
AddUsersEncryptionTest (error 8009310B)
IShellLinkResolveVolumeTest (IFS_TEST_LINK_TRACKING)
LocalMountPointTest (IFST_TEST_UNIQUE_VOLUME)

In addition to failing the above tests, the following tests always fail on
a compress NTFS drive:

UpdateOnCloseTest
GetRetrievalPointersTest
MoveFileTest
SparseMoveFileTest

The following tests always fail on FAT16 and FAT32:

FileDirectoryInformationTest (timestamp is wrong)
MountVerifyVolumeTest (volume missing - what volume should this be?)
InvalidateVolumesTest (appears to be a privilege problem)

Has anyone else seen these? ANy workarounds? It seems some of these are
errors in the tests themselves and others are configuration problems caused
by incomplete documentation.

Thanks,

Mike Gilson

What is the IFSTEST and from where it can be obtained ?

The IFSTEST is one of the tests on the Windows 2000 IFSKIT CD.

In this case, the IFSTEST version (710) is the latest build for the
upcoming IFS Plugfest which will take place at Redmond from July 31st,
which was previously announced on this list, and which is for filter and
local filesystem drivers only. We have around 40 products being interop
tested at this event, and IFSTEST is one of the tests in the suite used
at this event.

At present, only Plugfest attendees have the latest builds of IFSTEST
and the test suite. A few weeks after this event (how many weeks depends
on how many issues we find in the test suite at the plugfest) we will
make the test suite available for wider use by IFSKIT customers.

Plugfest attendees who do have the latest 7xx builds of IFSTEST should
contact me about any issues they have with it, so we can investigate and
fix if needed.

Finally, note that the test suite is primarily intended for testing
filter drivers. It is also of use in testing local filesystems, but is
*not* appropriate for redirectors.

PS: We have 1 place spare at the plugfest in case anyone really wants to
come still. It’s a 5-day event (starting 7/31/00) at the Microsoft
Campus, and you need to bring a released (or nearly released) Windows
2000 filesystem *filter* driver, AND the developer of the driver needs
to attend. We spend the week doing interop testing with other
filesystem/filter drivers under stress and functionality tests. There
are 40 products in attendance.

David,
I am wondering whether Panda Software is included or not in the list.
Ed Baisa told us that there was a spare place in the Plug Fest and we gave
him an answer requesting this place.
However, reading your mail now I doubt about Panda being included in the
attendees list.

Please, may you confirm us that Panda is in the list of attendees ?

Thanks.

Inaki.
