IA-64 kernel debug

Hi,

I am running into a problem trying to connect a debugger to a IA-64 4
proc x450 IBM system running Windows 2003.

If I reboot the Windows server with my laptop connected I get the
included windbg session output. In this case I did not have the symbol
path set so I get symbol errors, but what happens is that it seems like
it connects initially on reboot for a few seconds, I get the text
(session included below), and then the debugger detaches even before you
get the Windows 2003 splash screen on boot up and I cannot get back in
without another reboot of the Windows 2003.

Any thoughts on where I am going wrong?

It doesn’t seem like a software issue, and the KD messages look normal.
Perhaps the serial (RS-232) communication from the debugger to debuggee
has some trouble (bad cable, or the RS-232C driver chip of the debugger is
not good).
Recommend to check debugger<->debuggee communication with HyperTerm on
both side.
