I2C Bus adapter

Is there any standard for I2C Bus interfaces for Windows if the I2C bus
adapter is not part of a display adapter? I have a client looking for a
driver for their PCI device that has I2C and was wondering if there is a
specific interface to provice?

Win8 supports i2c, but I doubt it will fit into what your customer wants

Their device connects to both PCI AND I2C? Interesting. Not many people realize that there’s an SMBus connection at ever (conventional) PCI slot…

Having both a connection to PCI and I2C presents some interesting challenges. Consider that this device apparently has power dependencies on two separate buses and the I2C controller driver.

Unless their I2C device is a HID device, and maybe even if it is, this is not likely to fit well into the existing Windows scheme for I2C support.
