HT and XP

Hi,

Is it true the original XP supports HT already? I mean there is no need to
install any SP1 or SP2? Is there any way that I can turn on/of HT inside
XP, so I can test my driver for each case? I don’t find such a switch in
the BIOS (HP a350n). By the way, anything that I’d know regarding the WDM
driver for HP?

Thanks

AH

You can use /ONECPU in BOOT.INI file.
However, this switch does not work exactly same way as disabling HT from
BIOS SETUP.
It seems it disables the second virtual CPU but internal cache is still
shared.
The best way to emulate one cpu working alone is disabling HT from within
BIOS.

Yes, and I think any NT OS will see HT as an SMP machine.
