How to make my card detect by NT?

Hi,
this is a simple question… How can I make Windows NT4.0 detect a PCI
card?

The first time NT boots with the card plug-in, I would like it detects it so
that I can give it the .inf file that will install the driver and write to
the registry.

Is it possible? If not, what is the normal way to install driver on NT?

Thanks,
Michael

NT4.0 does not do this, that is why there is a W2K. On NT4 after you plug in
your PCI card you run your own home-grown installation program that installs
your driver. No inf files, unless you are talking about network cards.

Manually, by inserting the floppy and selection “Install” on the INF from the floppy.

With NT4 it is the responsiblity of the driver to detect your PCI card. You
will need to have a setup program install your driver.
