How to Locate for a perticular file/directory to restore from the SCSI tape.

Hi all,
I m new to ASPI programming…
currently i m trying to do backup/restoration to/from the tape
Using ASPI in vc++ on win2k.

I m able to read data from the beginning to end.
I mean from BOM to EOD

I do’t know How to switch to a perticular file/directory
on the tape for selective restoration.

can some help me out …
Is there any command by which I can reach to a perticular file
on the tape and can start resoration.

Thanx in advance…

I want to retrieve some information about the disk controllers
(ata/atapi/scsi) etc. I am able to get Model number, revision
number,
serial number, and controller number for a physical device which is
been
controlled by a controller.

SCSI miniport API does not provide any means for the driver to report
things like controller’s revision number. So, your only choices are
device description string from controller’s INF file or proprietary
IOCTL for particular SCSI miniport.
