how to get disk signature by drive letter

Is there any way to get the disk signature by the drive letter ? with or without actually reading the disk. Thanks.

Thanks. From SDK, it seems the signature is same for all boot drive ? Should it be unique ? Are those info stored in the MBR ? Thanks.
