Hello EveryBody
I have seen software like deep freeze that are using volume upper
filter driver to redirect the new files and changes made to files to
some hidden location on disk.
I haven’t seen any drive as such which may be used as hidden drive.
and i am not able to grasp that how it can be done using volume upper
filter driver.
Do anyone have any idea about it since i also want to create such kind
of secret location or hidden volume.

I worked on a snapshot driver and a security product that uses a technique
like you are interested in. Have a look at the product I architected named
“Volume Snapshot”:

You can also go and look at another product I inveted/architected called
ShadowUser: www.shadowstor.com.
I am not associated with either of these products anymore, but you and use
their evaluation software to see how it works.

hello jamey
I saw your product .It was really running fine.
I am really not sure about the idea.
But do tell me whether it will work.
First i am planning to use FSCTL_GET_VOLUME_BITMAP to get the
information of used and unused cluster on the volume. And then try to
always redirect any change to the unused part of clusters managed by
my upper volume filter driver.
But i have no idea of how to manage the unused clusters efficiently.
So Is there any sample or help available to start with.
Thanks for your earlier reply
