How is kernel memory reserved on NT/Win2k?. How is the initial size of the
paged and non-paged kmem pools decided - To what size can total kmemory
grow to?. For a 256 Mb machine what can I expec the sizes to be?

Are you talking about virtual or physical memory ? The virtual memory layout
for the kernel is well defined. You can find a description in the “Inside
Windows 2000 book 3rd Edition”. Physical memory is not reserved specifically
for the kernel.
