hard disk use fastio?

Hi,

Is it true that only hard disk uses fastio calls but not for floppy, cdrom
or removable media like thumbdrive etc?
Therefore I will not be able to filter IRP_MJ_WRITE for fastio devices?

FastIo calls are used by filesystems and not block device drivers.
