interrupts
Someone had kept complaining to me that a slightly modified variant
of the NT 4 serial port sample driver didn’t get interrupts. They were
looking
at this on and off for months, and weren’t getting anywhere. I finally
looked
at the calls the samples was making that were related to interrupts, and
within
five minutes found the documentation that stated one of the functions was
obsolete. It seemed pretty clear that not all legacy drivers are even
supposed to work.
You probably need to make this a real win2k driver.
Rather strong statement, really. There are and still will be a lot of
legacy drivers alive and kicking - but one must make some modifications
in order to ensure their well-being under W2K/XP. Modifying
Passing pDeviceObjects instead of NULL to HalAssignSlotResources requires
a lot less work then rewriting the whole driver :).
