FW: Filter through reboot?

I sent this out some time ago. I got an error message when sending but then
it showed up in my inbox the same way all the other list messages do.
I don’t know if anyone else saw it…

Subject: Filter through reboot?

Hi,

Requirement:

  1. Turn on a filesystem filter
  2. Log events to file
  3. Reboot system
  4. Turn off the filesystem filter
  5. Look at log

Obviously there are points where no logging is going to happen but I’d like
to capture as much as possible.

Any thoughts on best approach?

I’m familiar with IFS mini-filters. I’m thinking the minispy driver might
work as-is. I’ll probably need to redo part or all of the console user app,
particularly with regards to the re-startup during boot.

Thanks,
Mickey.

A minifilter would be the best, clean and easier way to get your job
done.

To efficiently log the events use WPP tracing mechanism in your
minifiletr, its fast and compressed. It comes with a utitlity to view
the trace messages in a nice windows gui form. (refer article
