Formatting a HDD.

Hi,
I want to “Format” a partition of HDD. The traget HDD is a secondary HDD(non
Boot HDD). Is there any API or IOCTL in Windows that can do this. I want to
make this compatibale in Win 95 and Win NT Technology. Is this possible at
application level? If not could you please, let me know how to have this
done at driver level.

Also, ( ) how do we come to know if there is any file in a sector,
without reading the sector(by checking the MFT or something like that).

I would be greteful if you could give me some code snippet.

with thanks and regards,

“Or Employees”??? Including the message author who is ZenSar employee?
This seems to be the most funny legal text I ever saw
