FltCreateFileEx on XP?

NTFSD Folk:

FltCreateFileEx is documented as being “available on MicrosoftR Windows
ServerT 2003 SP1 and later”, and indeed it is in the latest IFS kit (build
1414).

It’s also in the Win 2K rollup. So it’s available in 2003 SP1 and Win 2K,
but apparently not in XP?

Any plans to include it in XP soon?

Thanks,
Ken

Ken,

After Srv03 SP1 is released we are planning on doing a filter manager
update for XP. I will give you details later.

I’ve been wondering for a while, why is everything in NT now a
“Manager?” We right click on “My Computer” and select “Manage” which
launches the Microsoft “Management” Console. In there, we click on the
Device “Manager.” Now we have a Filter “Manager.” Did some marketing
study determine that the more the word “Manager” appears in the OS, the
more managers will be inclined to buy it?
