hi everybody
m new to this field. m making my own file system filter driver. m making appliction thru reparsing concept i.e. in create request m changing name of the application thru file object.
can any body tells me that whether to reach some file on any storage i.e. say to access a:\ file.txt at kernel level. Is it neccessary for me to mount the file system first then we can access the file. or we can also do it without mounting the file system. plz give ur views bout this.
can anybody tells me that whether it is possible to make file system filter driver thru XP-DDK or i hav to buy ifs kit for my problem…

Start with the FAQ. If you know file systems completely and have source
code access to Windows you might be able to write a file system filter with
only the DDK, but I sure don’t want to try it. I suspect those who could,
don’t even want to try either.
