Hi,
I tried to attach the filespy.exe to the Volume \Device\Mvfs (I am
testing my mini-filter with Clearcase) using the Volumes menu item. However,
this results in a blue screen with bug check 0 (all zeroes). This happens
even when my mini filter is not loaded.
Am I doing something wrong here? Has anyone faced this issue? I am
running the utility on Win2003 enterprise edition OS.
Thanks,
Vishal

When I tested that, I know I god some blue screens even of MS file systems
(like pipe or mailslot), because they were not prepared to receive file objects
with empty FsContexts on IRP_MJ_QUERY_INFORMATION.
There are another devices that can crash for sure.
What kind of device is that ?
And also, could you post output from !analyze -v ?
L.
Hi Ladik,
This device is created by Rational Clearcase Multi Version File system
driver (Legacy driver). The Device tree utility came up with following
details about this device.
Device Name: \Device\mvfs\
Type: FILE_DEVICE_NETWORK_FILE
Device Type: 0x14
Flags: 0x840
Currently, I do not have the debugging setup with me. However, once I
get that up I can post the output of !analyze -v command in this post.
Best Regards,
Vishal

You’ve written that it causes blue screen. So just get the dump, open in in Windbg
and do !analyze -v

Hi,
I currently do not have a machine with Clearcase client installed. But I
will have it by tomorrow. I can then post the output here as it can be
reproduced.
