FileSpy and SpyFastIoQueryOpen()

Hello

I compiled FileSpy from XP1 IFS.

Ran the filespy.exe and started logging to the screen.

I wrote a small application that GetFileAttribute() a given file.

When I GetFileAttribute() a new log entry gets printed to the screen however
the filename is incorrect.
Sometimes it is a single character file name, sometimes it is the name of
C:.

Only if I CreateFile() then CloseFile() that file once, tell
GetFileAttribute() causes the QUERY_OPEN to print the correct file name!

I download FileSpy GUI by Ladislav and also noticed the same problem. The
file name is displayed in a wrong manner…Wrong file name is being
generated.

Elias

I remember that I have fixed this issue related to FASTIO_QUERY_OPEN
in the FileSpy.sys code. However, I haven’t uploaded the version to OSR
(yet)
Could you try this version ?

Hello Ladislav,

No it doesn’t fix it as I tested again, as:

Unzipped new FileSpy
Rebooted (to remove old filespy’s driver from memory)
Started the new version of FileSpy
Reran my test

Concluded that the problem persists.

Is this is known issue w/ the IFS’s FileSpy sample?
