FILE_VIRTUAL_VOLUME

What is FILE_VIRTUAL_VOLUME device object chanracteristic for ? Could’nt
find adequate documentation
on it.

Thanks,

  • Gary.

I thik it was implemented early in NT 4.0 when MS ported DoubleSpace from
DOS to NT. Last I checked, the NT kernel does not use this flag for anything
special. It is a flag that an FSD or FSF can use.

Not sure what it may be used for in Vista.
