DTM Client Install on Vista

All,

I am trying to install a DTM client on Vista Premium. When the installation
runs it quickly errors out with the following message:
“Failed to set security on object c:\Program Files\Microsoft Driver Test
Manager\Client/ Error #: -2147024891.”

The -2147024891 of course translates to 80070005h which I believe is an
Access Denied Error.

Has anyone seen this problem before? Any ideas? It would seem that I don’t
have some Vista permission value set correctly.

Thanks in Advance,
JJ

Mercifully, my exposure to DTM has been limited, so these are just some
ideas of the top of my head. It’s tempting to ask whether you used “Run
As Administrator,” but I believe that pretty much anything that looks
like an installation program gets run that way behind your back anyway,
but I guess it’s something to try, as it is easy. If you’re attempting
to install the client on the controller, I don’t think you can do that.
I think I recall something about having to run ADS if you’re part of a
domain. Not sure about that one, but it’s probably in the release notes.

Good luck,

mm

No need to worry your pretty little heads over this one. I figured it out –
one must disable user access control.

Thanks for your replies.

That’s the answer to 95% of Vista questions, isn’t it?
