Hello,
We have a common binary and common inf suporting
our three products. But we have different firmware for
different products so we dont come under Global
Family. So we require to submit the same driver three
times for signing. Hence we will receive three
different cat files. Is their a way that i can concat
this cat file?. Or i can get single cat filecfor all
the products.
Thanks in advance.

No. 3 Catalogs = 3 driver packages. You can, of course, put them all on the same CD or into the same distribution kit (and direct the user somehow to the one they should install).

Can you tell the difference between the three devices, by product/vendor
or device ID? If so, you could include all three firmware files in your
package and choose between them at startup time.

Hi, i am fresh with this and i thought that i should ask you before making
my own conclusions.
During my thesis, for the company where i am hired now, I implemented a TDI
filter. It’s purpose is to notify the user of any application connecting out
from the computer and also collect statistical information on their network
usage.
To make a long story shorter my question is actually:
Do I have to sign this driver? From what i have understood i don’t have to
do any signing. (Currently it will only run on XP and below).
Thanks in advance for all the answers.

As long as you don’t mind your users having to see the obnoxious message
box that basically says “CAUTION! This driver is unsigned and installing
it will probably lead to sterility the end of western civilization”,
then you don’t have to sign it.

How about the site you are reading these messages from? They have published several articles on Vista. Another choice is the WDK.

My intentions was not signing drivers for Vista but rather signing them for
XP and below, but i guess there have to be some kind of info on osr for this
to.
I’ll keep looking.

On the first page of the IFS Kit for Server 2003 SP1 there is a link to ‘Windows Hardware and Driver Central’. There is a link on that page to Logo requirements. The only signing done in 2003 and earlier is the Logo program.
