driver LPT port

Hi
I’m new in windows driver, and I want to create a Parallel port driver to access to it. I read Windows 7 Device Driver but it dont say anything about parallel port. can you guide me about where to start? any book or any code?

You can access the parallel port by opening LPT1: in user mode. Why do you need a driver?

I know I can use createfile() to access it, but I want to create a filter driver and change the LPT port default behavior to manage my robot and learn it. is it possible to change its default behavior?

You can create a driver that accesses the LPT ports. Take a look at the
IOCTL’s defined in parallel.h from the WDK. Creating such a driver with
KMDF is fairly easy.
