Drive Letter Limitations

What are the maximum number of drive letters that can be assigned to
physical drives in Win98?

Are there any types of drivers that can be written to extend the maximum
number of drive letters? If so, what limitations would drives with
“extended” letters have? (Would they just not be accessible to DOS
sessions?)

Thanks,
-Chris

You have 26 letters in the alphabet, so have a guess-
Nope, unfortunately.

develop shell extensions to extend the usual drives letters, but those new “drives” will be available in the explorer only.
