Display DbgPrint messages

Hello,

I know there are tools like the windbg and dbgview to display the kernel DbgPrint or DbgPrintEx messages, but I would like to write my own module to collect those (or at least my) messages.
I assume I need to use dbgv.sys for it, but have no spec how it’s working.

In the osr forums there was nothing written about it and also on google I only found only general things about DbgPrint, but nothing specific.

Any help ?

Thx Norbert

I like to read the messages local on the system, so not remote.

If you just want your own messages why not just wrap your DbgPrint
statements in an inline function or macro that logs to some circular buffer?

DbgView uses the undocumented call DbgSetDebugPrintCallback where available
and hooks on older platforms, so it’s not overly straightforward to drop in
the functionality.
