Hi
I have a question about using Client ID in DHCP request.
I have working on one of the SAN network driver and implementing DHCP over
SAN. Our SAN address is more than 16 bytes (so that cannot be used in DHCP
request), for that IETF specs says that DHCP client should use some sort of
unique Client ID in DHCP request rather that standard hardware address.
The question is - is there a way to configure Windows DHCP Client so that it
can use specified Client ID instead of hardware address, or do I need to
implement it in NIC driver which replaces default hardware address with
Client-ID for outgoing DHCP packets and do the reverse for incoming packets?
Thanks in advance for your help.
