Firstly, why are you using Unitool if you are developing your driver for
W2K and XP?? Unitool was meant only for NT4 and maybe 9x drivers. The
tool you should be using for W2K and XP is the Minidriver Development
Tool or MDT. I hope that you are atleast using a GPD and not the old
Unitool styled GPC.
In any case, there used to be a bug on W2K that required to have a
pre-defined paper size and also required to set this pre-defined paper
size to be the default. This bug has since been fixed on W2K. It was
never an issue on XP. Since you didn’t mention which platform you are
testing on, I am not sure if this affecting you.
Anyway, I would suggest that you perform a syntax check of your GPD in
the MDT. Maybe the 12x10 papersize option has errors in it. This could
be the reason for it not being selected.

Subject: [ntdev] Default Paper size
i am developing the driver using unitool for win2k/xp…
i have driver defined paper sizes & i do not have any
standard/predefined paper size
- 5x6 inch
- 8x10 inch
- 12x10 inch
i want 12x10 inch paper as default.
in my unitool i am selecting 12x10 as default.
After installing the printer, right click properties , in device
settings it will show 12x10 inch
but it seems while printing it doesn’t take this paper size
instead it is 5x6 inch
Now when i see right click properties , General , Printing
preferences , Advanced — There the papar size is set to 5x6 Is
anything related to this. how to fix this
