How to copy inf file to windows inf directory for windows

can i just use CopyFile() API & copy it to windir\inf directory
or it should be in the form of oem*.inf.
For windows 2k & Xp i am using SetupCopyOEMInf() API
Why do you need to copy the INF file to the windir\inf folder on NT4?
There is no PnP on NT4 anyway. So how is this going to help? In any
case, SetupCopyOemInf is not implemented for NT4.
