compiling DDK example 'enable' from within the VC IDE

Please excuse this second question on my first day of attendance here.

To better understand how the ‘enable’ example in the DDK obtains a list of
available devices and then disables and reenables them I wanted to step
through the code within the VC++ IDE. I almost get the thing to compile and
link but the symbol __chkesp remains unresolved. Seems like some macro
inserted call but I don’t know in what lib it is defined. I have used the
‘sources’ file to add 3 ddk libraries to the link phase. That resolved lots
of external symbols.

So is there a general procedure on how to do this?

Thanks,

Sander

There should be a FAQ for this sort of thing. You probably have /GZ in
you VC++ compilation options; it causes stack checking. Get rid of it.
