Can I obtain a support from Microsoft ?

I hope to obtain a technical support (about file system filter driver)
from Microsoft.

I read a IFS FAQ “Q19 Does Microsoft offer support for developing
file systems or file system filters?” in OSR site.
It described a “At the present time (October, 2001) Microsoft does
not offer development support”.

Question is…
Does Microsoft provide support at now (June, 2003)?

Still not yet… but sort of, through this mailing list (the Microsoft
File System people monitor this newsgroup).

There are lots of consulting company’s that can also help, of course. But
I’m sure that’s not what Jamey meant. Jamey wouldn’t be posting anything
even remotely commercial to this list, of course.

MS Folks: Can you tell us what the official status of support for FS Filter
development is?

If you’ve got a licensed copy of the IFS Kit, support is offered for
file system filter development (not file system development) through
Microsoft’s Advisory Services, which is basically an hourly fee-based
support designed for developers.

The link to more information on this for folks based in the US is:

Outside the US, go to:

http://support.microsoft.com and look at the Microsoft Services
available in your area. This is under the category of Microsoft
