hi,
I am developing a Bus Enumerator for loading two virtual drivers(one is
virtual Com port driver & virtual NIC driver). This Bus Enumerator is based
on the Toaster sample.
While loading the drivers the IO manager is creating a registry Key under
“Enum” key.
The IO manager creats a new reg key under “Enum” Key when ever i unload and
load any virtual driver. In this process the COM port mumber of my virtual
com port driver is getting increased by one every time i unload and load the
driver again.
In Win - 98/ME Hyperterm application exposes only 4 com ports(COM1 - COM4)
to the user. if the com port number of my Virtual comport driver is going
beyond COM 4(say COM 5 and above) i am not able to use the hyperterm
application.
I would like to know does the IO manager deletes the key in the “Enum” path
when my drivers gets unloaded, if not how to solve this problem.
