I’m now developing a file system filter driver and I
have a big problem. In 9x I had no problem beacuse the
IFS filter could “see” all I/O requests. Now on NT/2K
I have to attach to a file system in order to hook it.
So here comes the problem. How can I hook floppy (or
other removable drives) I/O request provided that i
can attach to their filesystem only when there is a
disk inside? Is there a way to find out when a CD is
inserted in the drive or to find out if we have floppy
I/O requests? This sould solve the problem of
attaching to a file system when a disk is in the drive
and detaching when the drive is empty.
Another problem. In user-mode we have the
GetDriveType() function. What about kernel-mode? Is
there something like GetDriveType()?
Thank you!
