ASPI Driver location in Win2000

Hi,

I am trying to write a driver to intercept SCSI Command Blocks on a
CDROM drive. I have managed to write an upper filter driver that sits
above cdrom.sys but this does not allow me to intercept ASPI CDB’s.
Does anybody know what kind of driver I would need to develop for this
and also have information on the architecture of ASPI in NT based
machines.

Regards,
Ceri

Try lower filter below CDROM and above the storage port.

Hi Max,

Yes this is going to be my next step. I have also heard that ASPI
creates its own IOCTL’s and are converted to the proper CDB at the ASPI
driver. Does anybody know anything about this.

Regards,
Ceri

IIRC yes. At least the Adaptec/Roxio CDRAL implementation installs 2
filters for a CD - upper and lower.
