AC'97 Dma Controller query

Hi all,

I have a doubt in AC’97 audio codec spec.

  1. As per the spec AC-Link input frame slot 5 is assigned for Modem ADC
    output.
  2. The AC’97 dma controller I use has 6 DMA channels, each channel has
    been assigned to a AC link slot by the controller datasheet. DMA Channel 2
    has been assigned AC-link input slot 5. The codec doesn’t support any
    modem capabilities.

Does this mean that DMA Channel 2 is unusable ?
