Hello, Everyone,
I develop a virtual display driver(looks like MaxVista), It is work well in XP, However, It isn’t work in Windows Vista Display Driver Model(older drivers still work), Of Course, There is the same issue in MaxVista.
I know the reason from “http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/display/multimonVista.mspx”, But I still want to support it in Windows Vista Display Driver Model, Do you have any advice to me? Thank you very much.

Yes – give up. This is not supported. That doesn’t mean “there is a
sneaky and hidden way to do this”. It means “this is not supported”.
Sooner or later, Microsoft will add a multimonitor layer to WDDM that
allows this to work.

Dear Tim Roberts,

It’s a good news.

Dear Tim Roberts,
Could you tell me more information about multimonitor layer.
such as, the roadmap? Is it compatible with XPDM? Is it compatible in different vender(WDDM)?
Thank you very much!

The only “multimonitor layer” I am aware of is for XPDM. I assume
Microsoft is creating a similar layer for WDDM, but I have no knowledge
of such a project.

Dear Tim Roberts,
Thank you for your supports.
Where you get the information from?
I means I want to try to study and solve it if the “multimonitor layer” will release after 6 months or more later, My users want to solve it as soon as possible.

Mostly, from reading the forums, newsgroups, and looking through the WDK.

No chance of that. Even if it were under development now, it wouldn’t
release until Windows 7.

Here’s something from WinHEC two years ago, the PowerPoint presentation
“WDDM v2 and Beyond” [WinHEC 2006; 1.81 MB]:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/b/9/5b97017b-e28a-4bae-ba48-174
cf47d23cd/PRI103_WH06.ppt
It doesn’t directly answer your question, but does give you an idea of
where WDDM is going.
