Hi All,
Where can I find checksum for WDK Beta 2? (5484.4_WDK_B2.iso)
I want to make someone else download it for me because of it size, and I
don’t want to get a corrupted one.

You see it on the very same page where you download it.

Oliver
Thank you.
I’m downloading it from connect.microsoft.com and it needs Microsoft
File Transfer Manager to download. The Transfer Manager also does not
display any checksum.
Also I can’t see any checksums in the page with file link.

I am sorry. You are right. I was mistaking it for the usual MSDN downloads :-\
However, the transfer manager should take care of the integrity of the downloaded content, IMO no need to worry.

The checksum I get for 5484.4_WDK_B2.iso from Connect matches the
checksum MSDN has posted for en_vista_beta2_wdk_dvd.iso, which is an
SHA-1 Hash of dd3f4d9263d20cd1b176277826a5c1e47afd3f13.

A minor point, and nearly all of us can “read between the lines” so we
know what you are really saying, but Vista 5484 has not been released. The
current CTP is 5384. Proofreeding and the backspace keys are your
friennnnd. ![]()

The checksum I get for 5484.4_WDK_B2.iso from Connect matches the

Another minor point: the copy of the 5384 WDK I downloaded from the beta
site is called 5484.4_WDK_B2.iso.

Unfortunately, the file is really named 5484.4_WDK_B2.iso. Check the download page for Windows Tools - Beta 2 (SDK and WDK); it isn’t the only mistake there. Really botched up.
BTW, Gary, how do you like AtaMini marked spews at the debug output?

Thank you Alan.
Would somebody else kindly compute SHA-1 hash for 5484.4_WDK_B2.iso
again and post the result?
If you mean AtaMini spews on Vista, I haven’t had the joy of doing much
with Vista for the past few months. Mostly I have attempted to do an
upgrade on my home system, but that failed to get to the desktop, and
thanks to Max’s ShadowProtect I was able to re-image back to XP. The only
spews I have to deal with is the crap coming from the TPM driver on the
Dell Latitude that I am currently using as a test mule.
To the OP of this thread … Son of a gun … you are correct. The name of
the WDK is 5484.4… pardon me for ASSUMING it was your typo. I do note,
however, that they named the SDK properly. But I’m ASSUMING again since
the WDK might have gone through 5484 builds.
If anyone is looking for a low cost solution to bare bones backup and
recovery I would HIGHLY recommend Storagecraft’s ShadowProtect Desktop.

Yes, I mean Vista. There are forgotten debug prints in ataport.sys (I reported it for 5381 but they haven’t it fixed in 5384).
We’re testing Vista mainly in VMware VMs but it isn’t useful for hw drivers.
